FrameMate: Screen Recorder
On your Mac, record yourself as landscape or portrait video, record your screen or a single window, capture a cable-connected iPhone or iPad screen, or record audio only. Add your microphone, the Mac's system sound and the phone's sound if you want them. When you record the screen or the phone, you can also show yourself on screen.

Privacy and price
- Your recordings are processed and stored on your Mac. There is no account, no cloud upload, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- All recording features are unlimited for the first 7 days, with no account or payment details. After that, FrameMate Pro is needed to keep recording: lifetime, yearly or monthly.
What you can record
- Screen and window: record the full screen or one window as 1080p MP4, with microphone, system sound, cursor highlight and a camera box.
- iPhone and iPad screen: record a cable-connected device and its sound. Keep the phone's own proportions, or choose portrait, landscape or side by side.
- Camera: record landscape video, or 1080 by 1920 portrait video for Reels, Shorts and TikTok.
- Audio only: microphone, system sound, the connected phone's sound, or any mix of them.
Highlights
- Frame Coach tells you by voice how to keep your face in the frame. It was designed with blind and low-vision creators in mind.
- While recording, shortcuts switch the layout, and turn the microphone, system sound and phone sound on or off without stopping. Cmd+Option+B tells you the state of the recording from any app.
- A switch whose source is not ready is never turned on silently. If the phone is not on the cable, the microphone is missing or a permission is absent, you get a warning. A screen or window that turns black is reported while you record.
- Pause and resume, a countdown, a time limit and duration reminders are all adjustable.
Example scenarios, such as recording a phone, screen and camera together, or audio only, and a step-by-step explanation of every setting are in the user guide.
